We had a pleasant stay for a night.

The hotel was fairly clean with incredible breakfasts. Appreciated the way our extremely pleasant room with plenty windows was. The staff members were exceptional and accommodating. This accommodation was in the very central location near the cathedral.

    helpful staff
    solid breakfast

We explored St Magnus Cathedral and the lovely shops nearby. The breakfast was solid and the room was great for hanging out. Although the stairs were a bit tricky, the staff was super helpful when we asked for assistance. A good base for our adventures.

    warm staff
    comfortable room
    limited choices
    outdated options
    overly rich dishes

The reception staff made a great first impression with their warmth and professionalism. The cozy room was a comfortable retreat, just a quick stroll from key attractions. Unfortunately, the dining options were quite limited, with only basic choices and an outdated menu that lacked variety. The gravy-heavy dishes left much to be desired, especially when fresh local seafood could have been showcased.

    jacuzzi bath

The beautiful king room was spacious and beautifully appointed with a vintage look, including a lovely poster bed. The staff were warm and cute, going out of their way to. We particularly enjoyed unwinding with Netflix on the big screen and the luxurious jacuzzi bath was a good bonus. Breakfast, although with limited options, was satisfying and the packed breakfast for our early checkout was a thoughtful touch!

Extensive whisky selection, historic architecture, local beer selection

Rooms require better maintenance!!! Cleanliness is lacking, especially in common areas. Old plumbing creates discomfort. Noise is disruptive, affecting a peaceful night's sleep. The parking situation could use more attention!!!

    juicy burger
    staff accommodation

It was just a good pick for a city trip in Kirkwall with attractive and competitive value for money. The burger I had was juicy, and the staff did their best to accommodate my requests. Remember to ask if there are any specials when dining.
